FIA Standing Committees

Board of Directors

The Food Industry Alliance of New York State is governed through a Board of Directors  comprised of independents, supermarket chains, wholesalers, co-operatives and manufacturers/suppliers. Between the Board’s three meetings per year, FIA’s Executive Committee convenes.

 

Government Relations Committee

The Government Relations Committee  purpose is to identify, analyze and make recommendations to the FIA Board of Directors on legislative and regulatory matters affecting grocers and their suppliers. The Committee reviews the Governor’s proposed Executive Budget each year to alert the members as to new initiatives, both good and bad, that will impact the food industry. The Committee monitors all state legislative bills as well as state and local regulatory actions.

Committee members include chain stores, independent grocers, cooperatives as well as wholesale distributors from all parts of New York.
