What is a voucher?
A voucher is a code (think digital ticket) that gives an employee access to a food safety course that was pre-purchased by an employer. Employers often purchase vouchers in bulk for discounts. Vouchers can be purchased for any course offered by StateFoodSafety and can be easily assigned and tracked to assure compliance.
Each voucher code is valid for one specific course for one year from purchase, allowing flexibility to assign training to your team members as needed throughout the year!
How do I purchase training for multiple employees?
Follow these steps to buy training for your team:
- Using the group purchase tool above, select all the courses you need and proceed to checkout.
- Complete the checkout/payment process to receive access to your administrative account. Already have an account? Log in at the top of the page.
- Once your group purchase order is complete, course vouchers will be visible in your account and ready to use.
- Assign vouchers to employees immediately by clicking View My Vouchers — or log in later to distribute them. Our system allows you to distribute vouchers to employees via email, text or in person.
Why does each employee need their own account?
Food handler cards/certificates are generated using the name of the account holder. If an employee completes a course on another person’s account, their certificate will have the wrong name.
To protect the integrity of our courses, we cannot make full name changes on a certificate and the employee would have to retake the entire course on their own account.
How do I assign course vouchers to my employees?
Assigning vouchers to your team is simple:
- Log in to your administrative account and go to the My Group Purchases tab.
- Under Purchased Vouchers, select the product you want to assign and click the blue arrow to invite the learner.
- Assign vouchers to learners through email, text or in person. Simply enter your employee’s contact information to send them the voucher code. You can even send or automate reminders as needed.
How do employees redeem their vouchers and complete the course?
Employees can redeem their vouchers in two ways:
- Click the link in the email or text sent by their employer.
- Manually enter a voucher code on our Redeem Voucher page.
After the voucher is redeemed, employees must:
- Create their own account to access their pre-paid course.
- Start training immediately — or log in later to begin. Students can access the 100% online course material at any time from any internet-connected device.
- Finish the course and pass the test.
- Download and print their card/certificate of training.
How can I manage my team account and track my employees’ training progress?
Simply log in and go to the My Group Purchases tab, where you can view and manage your vouchers and the progress of all team members in one place. Our tool allows you to track:
- Purchased Vouchers: View all training vouchers you’ve purchased, including unredeemed courses.
- Invitations: See all the team members you’ve sent vouchers to and send reminders if needed.
- Redeemed Vouchers: Check employee progress toward course completion.
- Certificates: View and print certificates and track expiration dates. See who needs to renew their training soon.
